If you are suffering from:
* Lower back pain
* Sciatica
* Herniated discs
* Neck pain
* Problems after back surgery
* Pregnancy related back pain
Or if you are considering back surgery, then you should seriously consider a series of treatments using The Cox Chiropractic Technic. It could very well be the answer to your problems.
* Results may vary from person to person.
What is the Cox® Technic?
The Cox Chiropractic Technic is named after Dr. James M Cox, who developed a non-surgical approach to back pain relief and physical healing that is unlike other forms of chiropractic techniques you may be use to. In his development, Dr. Cox combined chiropractic principles with the osteopathic principles set forth by Alan Stoddard, DO, in his book, Manual of Osteopathic Technic.
The Cox Chiropractic Technic is a non-invasive, non-surgical and a no-force means of helping patients with difficult and painful back conditions.
The Cox Chiropractic Technic is directed at decreasing pressure between the vertebrae, open the spinal canal area by approximately 25% and widening the space between the vertebrae, making more room for the spinal nerves.
Patients who were treated 2-3 times a week for 3 weeks for relief of a disc herniation (confirmed with MRI) report 79% improvement in pain and 73% improvement in disability. 91% of all low back pain patients reported relief in less than 90 days of care.
This technique has been found to be particularly effective in treating people who are suffering from sciatica, herniated discs, and many painful and debilitating back and neck conditions.
The “Cox Technic” requires a highly sophisticated chiropractic table that is designed in sections, which can be moved during your treatments.
Using gentle flexing allows increased circulation in the soft tissue between the vertebrae, which promotes healing and improved mobility.

Why haven’t I heard of it before?
Cox Technic is quite well known on the east coast but has been slow to expand into Texas. Now, Dr. Peng has brought this incredible technology to Pflugerville, servicing Pflugerville, Austin and Round Rock.
Dr. Peng has thoroughly trained on the Cox(r) Technic and is fully equipped with the highly specialized Cox Technic chiropractic adjustment table.
How Does It Help Disc Related Pain Conditions?
For patients with a slipped, bulging, ruptured or herniated disc Cox® Technic sets the following goals:
- To increase the disc height between the vertebrae lessening annular tension on the annular fibers and nerve by making more room and improving circulation.
- To allow the center of the disc to assume its central position within the annular fibers and relieves irritation of the spinal nerve.
- To restore vertebral joints to their physiological relationships of motion.
What conditions is the Cox Technic good for?
Cox Technic is appropriate for conditions causing low back and leg pain as well as neck and arm pain, including pain attributable to:
- Lower back pain
- Leg pain
- Neck pain
- Pregnancy related back pain
- After back surgery treatment
- Disc herniation
- A slipped or ruptured disc
- Spinal stenosis
- Spondylolisthesis
If you have had surgery or epidural steroid injections or exercise physical therapy and are still suffering, it is likely that the Cox Technic can aid in relieving your pain and help in healing your spinal problems.
The Cox Technic is also ideal for women who are pregnant as pregnancy can put strain on your lower back and the Cox table allows you to do gentle adjustments while lying on your side.
What are the common benefits of the Cox Technic?
- It can improve circulation by increasing the intervertebral disc height.
- It can relieve spinal nerve irritation and restore the vertebral joints.
- You will often experience improved range of motion and better posture as a result of your treatments.
- Cox Technic has been shown to work better than active exercise therapy in realigning and restoring ranges of motion inherent to the spine while reducing low back pain.
For patients with other conditions causing back pain (facet syndrome, spondylolisthesis, sprain/strain, scoliosis, transitional vertebra, sacroiliac subluxation, stenosis), Cox Technic can provide all of the above benefits plus the ability to place the spinal joints into normal, painless movements so as to restore spinal motion without pain.
Testimonials
“I had a very severe injury to my lower back that was so bad I ended up being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. An MRI showed that I had ruptured one disc in my lower back and herniated another one. I was being told that surgery would be my only real option.
“Rather than jumping to surgery I decided to try less invasive solutions first to see if I could recover by other means. Normal chiropractic techniques were not possible as I could hardly bare to move at all. I tried 2 different chiropractors, I had laser treatments and I worked with an Osteopath – none of which gave me any relief. I was about to give up until I read about the Cox Technic for herniated discs.
“I began treatment at the Pflugerville Wellness Center with Dr. Peng which included Cox® Technic adjustments, followed by ultrasound on the area and then 15 minutes of decompression. I did this 3 times a week for a month and then gradually began tapering off. Dr. Peng was incredibly careful and gentle and took great care in all treatments.
“I am now off all pain meds, prescription and OTC. I am working, cleaning, cooking and I am even exercising! I am truly impressed with the results I have gotten and grateful for the wonderful care I have gotten at Pflugerville Wellness.” – Debbie
